After 2nd January 55016 move from York T.M.D. to B.R.E.L. Doncaster from where eventually Preservation beckoned. After purchase she was moved to the Nene Valley railway, before going on tour at various open days, after many years in the waiting the second age of mainline running was to start, eventually on charters.

During 2004 16 found herself with a new owner and a new home at Tyseley. Since that date D9016 has relocated to Peak Rail, and is expected to pay a summer 2008 visit to the Churnet Valley railway.
